Funeral services for Myrtle S. Cornelius, age 80, were held Wednesday, May 16 at First Lutheran Church in Decorah, Iowa. The 1 p.m. services were conducted by Pastor Glenn Kappelmann. Burial was in the Lutheran Cemetery with Fjelstul Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were Michael Cornelius, Curtis Cornelius, Jr. LaVerne Neste, Paul Neste, Tom Phipps, and Dan Rausch.

Myrtle S., daughter of Andrew and Dena (Neste) Boe, was born June 15, 1909 in Winneshiek County, Iowa. She attended Winneshiek County Schools. On March 28, 1936 she married Ole Cornelius in Ames, Iowa. He died November 10, 1975. Before moving to Waterville, Iowa one year ago, she had lived in Winneshiek County most of her life. She was a member of First Lutheran Church,its church circles, and its Madison Busy Bee Circle.

Myrtle Cornelius died Sunday, May 13, 1990 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon, Iowa. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sons, Robert Cornelius in infancy and Curtis Cornelius on May 21, 1967; 2 daughters in infancy and a brother Palmer Boe.

She is survived by a son Arthur Cornelius of Waterville, Iowa; 7 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Alice (Alan) Moen of Charles City, Iowa.
