Funeral services for Chonda Leah Spilde, age 16, of Belvidere, Illinois, formerly of the Frankville, Iowa area, were held November 29 at Frankville Presbyterian Church with the Rev. James Elvig officiating. Burial was in the Frankville Cemetery.

Chonda Leah Spilde, daughter of Wes and Deloris (Winters) Spilde, was born September 7, 1974 in Waukon, Iowa. She was a junior at Belvidere High School and was in the top five percent of America's students. She was a member of "Who's Who in America" and had been an honor student since the 6th grade. She lived in Frankville from 1974 until August of 1988 when the family moved to Belvidere, Illinois. She worked at Mr.Quick's in Belvidere. She was baptized at the Frankville Presbyterian Church and confirmed April 16, 1989 at the First Presbyterian Church in Belvidere, Illinois where she was a member.

Chonda died November 24, 1990 of injuries sustained in a car accident in Boone County, near Belvidere, Illinois.

She is survived by her parents, Wes and Deloris Spilde of Belvidere, Illinois, and her sister Carrie Spilde living at home; her grandparents, Florence Spilde of Decorah, Iowa and Wayne and LaVonne Brandt of Frankville, Iowa and her great-grandmother, Rosena Winters of Waukon, Iowa.
