Services for Marcella Schmitt, age 71, of Fort Atkinson, Iowa, were held Tuesday, October 21 at 11 a.m. in St. John's Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery. Chekal Funeral Home, Fort Atkinson, Iowa was in charge of arrangements.

Marcella was born at Conover, Iowa on October 25, 1925 to Albert and Christine (Luzum) Kuboushek. She died Friday, October 17, 1997 in the Winneshiek County Hospital. She is preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Raymond Kuboushek, and 2 sisters, Wilma Gerleman, and Viola Meyer.

She is survived by her husband, Theodore Schmitt, a son Harvey Schmitt of Raleigh, North Carolina, 2 daughters, Joyce Wilges of West Des Moines, Iowa and Karen Minger of Chanhassen, Minnesota; 2 sisters, Mildred Silhacek of Spillville, Iowa and Christine Rausch of Fort Atkinson, Iowa and a brother, Robert Kuboushek of Calmar, Iowa.
