Ruby Augusta Rogen, age 93 of Waukon, Iowa died Monday June 23, 1997 at the Veterans Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 26 at Glenwood Lutheran Church rural Decorah, Iowa with the Rev. Joseph Lambert officiating. Burial will be Glenwood East Cemetery. Martin Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Casket bearers are grandchildren Donald, John, Gerald, and Janice Rogen, Susan Rissman, Daniel Wise, Jr., Jeffrey Wise and Debra Wise.

Ruby was born November 15, 1903 in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin to Nels and Alvina (Meier) Hanson. She attended the Round Prairie rural school and worked as a housekeeper for Dr. McCullough before her marriage to George Rogen on June 30, 1922. They farmed near the Glenwood area. Ruby was a member of Glenwood Lutheran Church and its women's organizations.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George; a brother Elmer Hanson and a great-granddaughter.

She is survived by a daughter, Eva Lou (Daniel) Wise of Palatine, Illinois; a son Jasper (LeVerne) Rogen of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; 8 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren; and 2 brothers, Milton (Lorraine) Hanson of Waukon, Iowa and Earl Hanson of Burlington, Wisconsin.
