Contributor: Connie Ellis (Not related)Funeral services for Timothy Craner, age 22, were held Monday, November 18, 1991 at 2:00 p.m. at the Schutte Funeral Home in Postville, Iowa. The Reverend David Ambrosy officiated. Burial was in the Bloomfield Cemetery, Castalia, Iowa. Casket bearers were Scott Bolson, Shannon Benson, Larry Troester, Tony Vaughn, Eric Cheeney, and Jeff Drahn.
Timothy Douglas Craner, son of Douglas and Sharon (Seder) Craner was born November 14, 1969 in Memorial Hospital of Gardena at Gardena, California. He died Friday, November 15, 1991, as the result of an automobile accident which occurred in Linn County, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was baptized into the Catholic faith at Garnavillo, Iowa. Tim graduated from the Postville Community Schools in 1988. In August of 1991 he enrolled in Kirkwood Community College at Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He had been employed by Winebrenner Ford in Iowa City, Iowa for two years prior to his enrolling at Kirkwood.
He is preceded in death by his father Douglas Craner, his grandmother, Mary Cunningham, grandparents, Farris and Irene Craner, and great-grandmother, Kay Wiley.
Surviving are his mother Sharon and his step-father, Jeffrey Szabo; and step-father, Henry F. Berns; 2 brothers, James (Angie) Craner of Harpers Ferry, Iowa and Justin Szabo of Castalia, Iowa; a sister, Jessica Berns of Garnavillo, Iowa; his maternal grandfather, James C. Cunningham, Guttenberg, Iowa; maternal great-grandfather, Donald D. Wiley of Congress, Arizona; a great-aunt, Eletha Cannon of San Pablo, California; 2 uncles, Michael (Diane) Cunningham and James W. (Sharon) Cunningham; 2 aunts, Patricia Cunningham and Robin Cunningham; and 2 cousins, Eric Cunningham and Sharon Luducca.
