Contributor: Connie Ellis (Schlitter Family Researcher)Janette (Dasher) Holman Kelly, age 54, died of heart failure at her home in Calmar, Iowa last Wednesday following a long illness. The body was cremated. A memorial service was held Sunday at the South Winneshiek high School auditorium at 2 p.m.
Janette Fontaine Dasher was born October 17, 1936 at Spencer, Nebraska to Earl and Pauline (Burgess) Dasher. She attended Hasting College, Atlantic Christian College, and was graduated from Mount Mercy College in 1973. On May 25, 1974 she married Rod Kelly at Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was hired at the South Winneshiek High School as secretary for the high school principal from 1975-1978. In 1978, she was hired as a Title I teacher. In April of 1989 she took a medical leave of absence.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband, Rod; 2 children, Darcy Roederer of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and John Holman of Iowa City, Iowa; 2 grandchildren, Melissa and Matthew Vileta of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; 1 brother, Dr. George Dasher of Northville, New York and 2 sisters, Judith Busget of Auxvasse, Missouri and Jeryce Kelly of Hemingford, Nebraska.
