Floyd Harvey

Floyd Harvey, son of Melvin and Christine (Kobriger) Harvey was born May 26, 1900 at Castalia, and passed away at the Mason City Hospital, October 23, 1964.

Mr. Harvey was educated in the local schools and grew to manhood in this community. He was a lifelong resident of this area. On February 17, 1920 he was united in marriage to Rilla Barnhardt. To this union was born one daughter, Betty, Mrs. Edwin Erickson, of Clear Lake. The first part of their married life was spent farming. They then moved to Decorah where Mr. Harvey was employed by the Sugar Bowl Ice Cream Co. He was an employee of this company for 18 years.

Since his retirement, Mr. Harvey had been in failing health for several years. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Rilla; one daughter, Betty, Mrs. Edwin Erickson, of Clear Lake; four grandchildren, Barbara, Mrs. Hefty of Iowa City, David, Marsha and Steven, all at home.

Services were from the Castalia E. U. B. Church at 1:30 on Tuesday, October 27, with Rev. Curtis H. Webster officiating. Burial was in the Pleasant View Cemetery at Castalia.
