Rites Held For Dell Harvey, 72

Funeral services were held last Wednesday afternoon in the United Brethren Church at Castalia for Dell Harvey, lifelong resident of Castalia, who passed away at his home July 16. Rev. Harlan Snow was in charge of the rites.
Burial was in Pleasant View cemetery. Mr. Harvey had been in poor health for some time but had been seriously ill for only two weeks. He was 72 years old.

Delbert Cyrus Harvey was born near Castalia on May 20, 1878, a son of Derastus and Jane Harvey. He spent his entire life in the Castalia vicinity.

On November 10, 1897, he was united in marriage with Miss Lottie Moore. The newlyweds established a home on a farm near Castalia, where they farmed for nearly 50 years. In 1947 they retired and moved to Castalia.

Mr. Harvey is survived by his wife and two children -- Mabel (Mrs. Herman Reckward) of Castalia, and George Harvey of New Albin.

Also surviving are two brothers -- Tine Harvey of Ossian and James Harvey of Postville; six grandchildren -- Wilbur Reckward of Waukon, Mrs. Charlotte Bigler of Postville, Virgil Reckward of Burr Oak, Laverne Harvey, now serving with the U. S. Navy at Norfolk, Va., Mrs. Richard Manning of Lansing and Carrol Harvey of New Albin. There also are seven great grandchildren and an adopted sister, Amelia Pearl Anderegg of Rice Lake, Wisconsin.
