Services Held for Former Resident

Ralph C. Haefner, 66, of Chicago, Illinois, passed away Wednesday morning, April 10, at Mercy Hospital in Chicago, following a short illness. He was born the son of William and Etta Bickel Haefner on May 7, 1901 at Castalia. Mr. Haefner was an accountant and lived in Chicago since 1939. Before moving to Chicago he lived in Castalia.

Surviving are two brothers, Earl Haefner of Elizabethtown, South Africa and John Haefner of Marshalltown, and three sisters, Mrs. Louis (Martha) Nelson of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Mrs. Leonard (Marie) Anderson of Cedar Rapids; and Mrs. Earl (Clo) Thies of St. Louis Park, Minnesota.

Services were at 3:30 p.m. Friday, April 12, at the Murdoch Chapel in Marion. A Cremation committal will be conducted in July at the family lot in Castalia Cemetery of Castalia.
