Former Decorah resident Clifford Opsahl, age 66, died Sunday, January 3, 1988 at Veterans Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa. Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 6 at the Mengis Funeral Home in Mabel, Minnesota. The Rev. Jerome Diers officiated at the 2 p.m. services with burial in the Riceford Cemetery near Mabel, Minnesota.

Clifford was born April 15, 1921 in Spring Grove, Minnesota to Clarence and Elma (Hoschiet)Opsahl. He attended the Riceford School. He was a cab driver for the Barth Taxi Service in Decorah, Iowa. He was a World War II veteran and a member of the VFW in Decorah, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister.

Surviving are 4 sisters, Ruby Erickson of Cresco, Iowa, Dorothy Larson of Decorah, Iowa, Charlotte Shefelbine of Waukon, Iowa, and Shirley Erickson of Mabel, Minnesota; and 2 brothers, Harold Opsahl of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Norman Opsahl of Austin, Minnesota.
