Clara M. Thompson, age 75, of Decorah, Iowa died Wednesday, September 9, 1987 at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. Funeral services were held Monday, September 14 at 11 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Decorah, Iowa with Pastor Glenn L. Borreson officiating. Burial was in the Lutheran Cemetery with Fjelstul Funeral Home of Decorah in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were Howard Peterson, Brian and Joel Thompson and Duane, Harold and Lowell Vine.

Clara was born June 18, 1912 in Glenwood Township to Gilbert and Marie (Hagen) Moen. She attended rural Winneshiek County schools and took a home nursing course. In 1931 she married Leonard T. Thompson in Glenwood Lutheran Church. He died January 22, 1970. She had been a nurse's aide at Smith Memorial Hospital, Decorah, Iowa and did a lot of home nursing care. She was a member of the Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid Society of the church.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, a grandson, and two sisters.

Surviving are a daughter Mrs. Harlan (JoAnn) Vine of Decorah, Iowa; 4 grandsons and 10 great-grandsons; 2 brothers, Norman Moen and Clarence Moen and a sister, Gladys Vine, all of Decorah, Iowa.
