Hildegard Blegan, age 90, of Decorah, Iowa died Saturday, July 12, 1986 at the Winneshiek County Memorial Hospital. Services were held Tuesday, July 15 at 10:30 a.m. at Glenwood Lutheran Church with the Rev. Landis J. Olson officiating. Burial was in the Glenwood South Cemetery with Fjelstul Funeral Home of Decorah, Iowa in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were Gordon Ellingson, Richard Langland, Orval Loven, Austin Moen, Arne Prestsater, and Nathan Teslow.

Hildegard was born October 25, 1895 in Glenwood Township to Martin and Andrine (Evenrud) Hendrickson. She attended rural Winneshiek County schools and Valders Business College. On November 24, 1927 she married Perdy Blegan at Glenwood Lutheran Church. He died on September 7, 1975. She was a member of the Lutheran Church, ALCW, and church circle.

She was preceded in death by her husband and two sisters, Syneva Hendrickson at age two and Clarisse Loven.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Willard (Eloise) Orvella of Decorah, Iowa, Mrs. John (Marian) Ashbacher of Waukon, Iowa, and Mrs. Don (Arlene) Sorenson of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; and a brother Milford Hendrickson of Decorah, Iowa.
