Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 14 at St. Benedict's Catholic church in Decorah, Iowa for Veronica O'Brien, age 84, who died Monday, October 12, 1987 at her home in Decorah, Iowa. Father John Paisley performed the 11 a.m. services. Burial was in St. Benedict's Church Cemetery. Sensor-French Funeral Home of Decorah, Iowa was in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were David Hovden, Robert O'Brien, Dennis Curtin, Allen Halweg, Gary White and Jeffery Magner.

Veronica was born September 9, 1903 in Dorchester, Iowa to Dennis and Ellen (Lyons) Malone. She attended rural schools. She married Raymond O'Brien on October 1, 1929 in Dorchester, Iowa. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters and a brother.

Surviving are her husband, Raymond and a sister, Rose Casey of Decorah, Iowa.
