Funeral services for Hazel Brandt were held Monday, May 19 at 10:30 a.m. at the Frankville Community Presbyterian Church in Frankville, Iowa. The Rev. James Elvig officiated. Schutte Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Frankville Cemetery. Casket bearers were Earl Gander, Leslie Laterman, Leonard Crawford, Leland Walby, Byron Schulta, and Earl Koenig.

Hazel Kirk, was the daughter of Douglas and Elsie (Gordon) Padrick. She was born January 26, 1889 in Indiana. She attended the rural schools of Post Township. Prior to her marriage she was employed as a seamstress for the Marshall Field Company of Chicago, Illinois. On August 7, 1912 she married Walter H. Brandt at Bruce, Wisconsin. They farmed in the Frankville, Iowa area until 1941 when they built their retirement home near their farm. After the death of her husband she moved to Decorah, Iowa in 1959. She became a resident of the Good Samaritan Center in Waukon, Iowa in 1980. Hazel died Thursday, May 15, 1986 at the Good Samaritan Center.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Walter, a son Wesley Brandt, 2 sisters, Stella Mathews and Cecil Davis and 2 half brothers George Padrick and Earl Padrick.

She is survived by a son Wayne Brandt and his wife Lavonne and a daughter, Mrs. Roland (Beverly) Peck, all of Postville, Iowa; a daugher-in-law, Ethel Brandt of Decorah, Iowa; 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren; and one sister, Zana Kaczmarski of Pettibone, North Dakota.
