Funeral services for Annetta Brandt were held Wednesday, March 18 at 1:30 p.m. in the Zion Lutheran Church, Castalia, Iowa. The Rev. H.W. Wolfgram officiated. Schutte Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements. Interment was in the Pleasant View Cemetery at Castalia, Iowa. Casket bearers were Lyle Kneeskern, Nanferd Meyer, Gerald Blumhagen, Earl Stendel, Ray Schara, and Leslie Mundt.

Annetta Mary Brandt, daughter of Herman and Mary (Seals) Hisinga, was born October 31, 1907 at Minneapolis, Minnesota. She died Monday, March 16, 1987 in the Ossian Senior Hospice at Ossian, Iowa. She was baptized at the age of 12 at Minneapolis, Minnesota and confirmed as an adult in 1945 by the Rev. Rebelein at Castalia, Iowa. She attended school in Minneapolis. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church and the ZLCW, the Bloomfield Township Historical Society, and the KEWS in Castalia.

Annetta married Walter Brandt on December 21, 1925 at St. Paul, Minnesota. They returned to the Castalia, Iowa area where they farmed most of their life. They were the parents of 2 boys, Robert and Lloyd. When they retired they moved to Castalia. Annetta was a resident of the Ossian Senior Hospice since October 1983.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Walter, who died in 1984, 2 brothers, Herman Huisinga and Edward Huisinga, and a sister, Dorothy Jansen.

Surviving are two sons, Robert Brandt and his wife, Marlus of Castalia, Iowa, Lloyd Brandt and his wife Imogene of Belvidere, Illinois; 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; one brother, Raymond Huisinga of Minneapolis, Minnesota and 5 sisters, Beatrice Roberts of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Dolores Block of New Hope, Minnesota, Mrs. James (Bernice) Hayes of St. Louis, Minnesota, Mrs. Clarence (Lorraine) Seaburg of Wayzata, Minnesota, and Mrs. George (Betty) Buen of Robbinsdal, Minnesota.
