Mabel Record, June 11, 1981. Mrs. Darrel Casler, 53, Route 1 Chatfield, dies.

Funeral services were held Thursday, June 4, at the Chatfield Lutheran church for Mrs. Darrel Casler, 53, who died Monday, June 1, at Methodist hospital in Rochester where she had been a patient since the previous Thursday after suffering strokes. The Revs. J. David Dybvig and Ken Sutherland officiating. Burial was in the Chatfield cemetery.

The former Ella Mae Iverson, she was born Feb 13, 1928 at Mabel, the daughter of Clarence and Emma (Aasum) Iverson. She was a 1946 graduate of Mabel high school. She moved to Winona in 1948 after which she moved to Decorah, Ia.

On Nov. 18, 1951, she married Darrel Casler at Scheie. The couple lived in Decorah until 1957. Since 1961 she had resided at Chatfield. She had been employed as a nurses aid at the Chosen Valley Care Center.

Survivors are her husband; one son, Gary, at home; a brother, Odell Iverson, and a sister, Eleanore Iverson, both of Mabel.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

The Riley Funeral Home in Chatfield was in charge of arrangements.
