John Brenna

Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon from the Garness church for John Brenna and interment in the cemetery near by.

John Brenna was born August 1, 1871 in Leksviken, Trondjeim, Norway. He came to America at the age of 19 years. He settled in Newburg Township and later bought a farm in Amherst township. In 190 he was married to Emma Erikson.

To this union were born three daughter, Gladys, Mrs. Jemmy Krause of Norfolk, Nebr. Esther, Mrs. Byron Solem, Wintrhope, Ia. and Ruby. For the past sixteen years, Mr. Brenna has lived in LaCrosse, and there he passed away in a hospital on August 12, at the age of 76, years, and one day.

Besides the two daughters four grandchildren and two great grandchildren, 2 brothers, Ed and Julius and two sisters, Mrs. Gust Redwing and Mrs. Jas. Smally all of the Mabel area survive him.

His wife and daughter, Ruby, one brother and one sister preceded him in death.
