A biography/ obituary: From the Decorah Public Opinion of Thursday., Sept. 19, 1935.

Mrs. Dr. Robert Strong. (Three days after a Public Opinion Reporter interviewed kindred of Mrs. Strong to obtain particulars about her long life, she passed on. Her death occurred Sunday, and burial was made Tuesday afternoon in the Hesper cemetery, Rev. Marlenee, pastor of the Friends church, officiating.)

Mrs. Dr. Robert Strong (Josephine Imus) was born at Homer, Michigan, December 31, 1840, the oldest of a family of eight children. She attended the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor when that institution was in the first year of its existence. There she met a young physician, Dr. Robert Strong, and they were married at Ann Arbor during the Civil War. The young couple came to Decorah in 1870, where Dr. Strong joined Dr. Cartwright in practice of medicine. They lived in Decorah for one year before moving to Hesper where Dr. Strong practiced his profession until his death in 1891. No children were born to the union

Mrs. Strong, although 94 years of age, has been in good health until this summer since which time she has become quite feeble and has been bed-ridden most of the time, and requires constant care by her nephew, A.P. Robinson and wife, with whom she makes her home.

Note: A.P. Robinson, is Percy Robinson, I believe Percy to be an adopted nephew, as Percy's mother Lizzie Robinson/McMillen/Everts, had worked for and lived with Mrs. Stong for many years.
