Wesley H. Halverson

Funeral services for Wesley E. Halverson, Decorah were held Tuesday, April 24, 1990, at St. Benedict's Catholic Church, Decorah, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. John Paisley officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery with Fjelstul Funeral home, Decorah, in charge of arrangements. Lector was Rhonda Carolan, organist was Alan Sensor and Paul Casterton, soloist.

Pallbearers were Ted Godden, Gary johnson, Norman Larson, Tom Lynch, David Svenson and Wes Wicks.

Wesley H. Halverson was born June 15, 1932, at Decorah, Iowa the son of Wallace and Palma (Blekeberg) Halverson. He died Saturday, April 21, at the Winneshiek County Memorial Hospital, Decorah, of cancer, at the age of 57

He received his education in the Decorah schools, graduating in 1950. He was a member of St. Benedict's Catholic Church where he served as an usher.

On June 27, 1959 he married Audrey Schlee at St. Benedict's Catholic Church in Decorah; they had 5 children. He lived in Decorah most of his life, where he worked as a milkman for 23 years, and for the Fred Carlson Company, Inc. for 2 years. He also lived in Postville, Iowa for 2 years and worked at the Postville Bowling Alley.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Survivors include his wife Audrey, 3 sons, Mike and Jack of Decorah, and Randy of Minneapolis, MN; 2 daughters, Brenda and Lynn, both of Decorah; one grandchild and 3 sisters, Helen Sersland and Pat Pavlovec, Decorah, and Francis Fjelstul, Greeley, IA.
