Memorial services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, February 6 at Kuba Funeral Home east, Cedar Rapids, for Clarence E. Hoopman, 69, of Branson, Missouri, who died Thursday, February 2 in a Cedar Rapids hospital following a lingering illness. The Rev. Robert Rogers, Chaplain of St. Lukes Hospital, Cedar Rapids, officiated.
Clarence was born August 26, 1908 in Harmony, Minnesota. He graduated from high school at Cresco, Iowa and also attended Iowa State University.
June 26, 1931, he was married to Ione Kobrigen at Decorah. He owned and operated a grocery and fruit market in Decorah for many years prior to moving to Cedar Rapids in 1962. He retired from Collins Radio in 1975, moving at the time to Branson, Missouri. He was a member of the Local IBEW and a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Branson, Missouri.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Mrs. Laverne (Mary) Neste of Decorah; Mrs. Donald (Nancy) Oujiri of Cedar Rapids; a son Ronald E. Hoopman, Cedar Rapids and six grandchildren.
Interment was in Bloomfield Cemetery, Castalia.
