Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 19 for John T. Kazynski, age 61, who died Friday, January 15, 1988 at his home in Ossian, Iowa. Father Marvin C. Salz officiated at the 11 a.m. services held at St.Francis de Sales Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery. Miltary rites were conducted by Brockman-Hammersland American Legion Post 503 of Ossian, Iowa. Schmitz Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were William Dessel, Omer Topf, Cyril Hanken, Albert Valland, Donald Hertges, and Norbert Lansing.

He was born May 23, 1926 in Madison, Wisconsin *The clipping does not list the names of his parents.* and served in the Army during WWII. He married Annabel Irish in 1950. He had worked for Farmers Telephone Company in Lancaster, Wisconsin and for 22 years he was the manager of the Scenic Ridge/Ace Telephone Company in Ossian, Iowa. From 1977-1985 he owned and operated the Town Theatre in Waukon, Iowa before retiring and moving to Ossian, Iowa. He was a member of St.Francis de Sales Church, St. Francis Rosary Society and the Brockman-Hammersland American Legion Post 503 in Ossian.

Surviving are his wife, Annabel; 6 sons, Mike of Waterloo, Iowa, David of Kennett, Missouri, Gary of West Union, Iowa, Greg of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, and Joseph and Timothy, both of Ossian, Iowa; 3 daughters, Kathy Koenig of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Laurie Thompson of West Union, Iowa and Mary Wille of Guttenberg, Iowa, and 12 grandchildren.
