Contributor: Connie Ellis (Not related)Mildred L. Hermanson of Taylors Falls, Minnesota, died Friday, May 27, 1988 at the Good Samaritan Center in St.Croix Falls, Wisconsin at the age of 68. Funeral services were held Wednesday June 1 at First Lutheran Church, Taylors Falls with burial in Kahkabong Cemetery near Taylors Falls.
Mildred was born on her grandparents Rolfs'farm near Frankville, Iowa in Winneshiek County on August 5, 1919 to Albert and Elise (Rolfs) Laterman. She graduated from Waukon High School. On December 24, 1939 she married Vernon Hermanson. They moved to a farm in the Almelund, Minnesota area in 1946. She had formerly taught school in Ludlow township in Allamakee County and was a substitute teacher in Taylors Falls. She was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Almelund, and several volunteer groups. In 1975 they retired from farming and moved to Taylors Falls where she was a member of First Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Vernon Laterman.
Surviving are her husband, 2 sons Ronnie Hermanson of St.Croix Falls, Wisconsin and Larry Hermanson of Center City, Minnesota; 2 daughters, Verna Moey and Rita Johnson, both of Taylors Falls; 2 brothers, Leslie Laterman of Postville, Iowa and Hartley Laterman of Waterloo, Iowa; and an aunt and uncle, Rosena and Marvin Winters, with whom she lived after her parents died when Mildred was very young.
