Roy N. Tollefson of Calmar, Iowa died Tuesday, October 11, 1988 at Bethany St.Joseph Health Care Center, LaCrosse, Wisconsin at the age of 81. Funeral services were held Friday October 14 at Fjelstul Funeral Home, Decorah, Iowa with Pastor James Glesne conducting the 11 a.m. services. Burial was in the Lutheran Cemetery. Casket bearers were Gary, Greg, Julius P., Richard, and Scott Frana and Dale Suhr. Honorary pallbearers were Cletus Dee, Clarence Falnes, Robert Frana, and Eugene G. Meyer.

Roy was born February 5, 1907 in Calmar Township to Tollef and Johonna (Barlow) Tollefson. He attended rural Winneshiek schools. On November 8, 1928 he married Agnes T. Schoeberl in Austin, Minnesota. She died November 7, 1986. They lived in Waukon where he was in the sand and gravel business. He farmed in the Waukon area before moving to the farm in Calmar Township in 1952 where he farmed.

He was preceded in death by his wife, a sister Ada Hillesand and two brothers, Elmer and William Tollefson.

Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Nels (Stella) Severson of Decorah, Iowa, two sisters-in-law, Marie Ranum of Decorah, Iowa and Dorothy Tollefson of Hacienda Heights, California, and several nieces and nephews.
