Contributor: Connie Ellis (Not related)Funeral services were held Monday, October 30 for Lydia Bolson, 81, of Decorah, Iowa. She died Friday, October 27, 1989 at Winneshiek County Memorial Hospital. The Rev. Jim Dale conducted the 1:30 p.m. services at the United Methodist Church. Burial was in the Canoe Methodist Cemetery with French and Balik Funeral Home of Decorah in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were Lloyd Dehning, Dean Decker, Lester Torredal, Curtis Gremm, William Broderick, and Virgil Stortz.
Lydia was born November 23, 1907 in Canoe Township, Winneshiek County, to Henry and Emma (Shoo) Weber and attended rural schools. On August 27, 1947 she married Arthur Bolson in Decorah. He died in 1960. She was a life-long Decorah area resident and a member of United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and Pamela Jo Circle.
Surviving are a daughter, Linda Wedmann of Decorah, three grandchildren, and two brothers, Edwin Weber of Decorah and Willard Weber of Hampton, Iowa. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister Emily and a brother Earl Weber.
