Funeral services were conducted Monday at 2 p.m. at the Hesper Lutheran church for Myron Welch, 85, Mabel, who died Friday, March 2, at Lutheran hospital in La Crosse. The Rev. Jay Kamrath officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery.

He was born Jan. 25, 1899, in Newburg Township, Fillmore County, Minnesota, the son of David and Jennie (Allen) Welch. He attended Mabel school.

He married Emma Klegseth Feb. 14, 1923, at Decorah, Iowa. They farmed in the Hesper and Mabel area until retiring and moving to Mabel. Mrs. Welch died Dec. 19, 1976.

Survivors are a son, Donald, Mabel; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Evelyn Olson, Caledonia, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his wife, two daughters, two grandchildren and a sister.

The Mengis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
