The Obituary for Oscar Korsness, Oct. 1961: Word was received here last Thursday of the death of Oscar Korsness, 49, which occurred that day at Livingston, Mont., following an extended illness. Funeral services were conducted at Livingston on Tuesday with burial there also.

He was born Nov. 17, 1911, in Hesper township, the son of Lawrence and Ida (Anderson) Korsness. He attended the Hesper public school. On Feb. 14, 1940, he married Lillian Brenna of Hesper township. They resided in this area until moving to northern Minnesota and then to Livingston.

Survivors are his wife; one son, Larol, now serving with the U.S. Navy; three daughters. Joan, Marie and Gloria, at home; his step mother, Mrs. Melissa Korsness of Hesper; two half brothers, Lester of Mabel and Norman of Minneapolis and a half sister, Mrs. Curtis Danielson, Moorhead, Minn. His parents and a sister preceded him in death.
