Here is the obituary of Olaf Selness, May 1966: Word was received here Monday of the death of Olaf Selness, 68, former Hesper area resident, which occurred at a hospital in San Antonio, Texas on Sunday evening, where he had been admitted that day. Funeral services and interment will be held Thursday at San Antonio.

He was born on a farm in Hesper township, the son of John and Annie Selness. He was baptized and confirmed at the Hesper Lutheran church of which he was a life long member. He attended the Hesper public school. He was engaged in farming in Hesper township until 12 years ago when he moved to San Antonio. He is survived by one brother, Dr. Alfred Selness, San Antonio, and several nieces and nephews. His parents and one brother, Carl, preceded him in death.
