Aged Milnor Couple Answer Final Summons: Mr. and Mrs. James Harvey Laid to Rest in Lakeview Cemetery Monday Morning. Mr. and Mrs. James B. Harvey, pioneer residents of Milnor, answered the great summons last week and their remains were laid side by side to rest in Lakeview cemetery Monday forenoon. Mrs. Harvey was the first to pass out. Her death occurred last Thursday, Dec. 27, at 11 p.m. She first complained of being sick on Christmas day. A physician was called, but no hopes were offered for her recovery from the beginning, as her heart action was bad. Flu-pneumonia was given as the cause of death. Mr. Harvey, who had been ailing for a number of years with asthma, came down with a severe attack of flu two weeks ago. His wonderful vitality sustained life long after hopes for his ultimate recovery were past, but on Saturday, Dec. 29, at 7:45 p.m. his sufferings ceased.
A double funeral was held from the home Monday forenoon, Rev. J.J. Stempges officiating. Ellen Anna Aasum was born on March 6, 1849, in Norway. She came to the United States at the age of seventeen years and first settled at Decorah, Iowa, later going to Mabel, Minn., and from there to Walcott, N. Dak., where in 1885 she was united in marriage to James B. Harvey. Two years later they came to Milnor, where they had made their home ever since. James B. Harvey was born in Logansport, Ind., on July 15, 1851, and came to North Dakota in the early eighties.
These old pioneers are survived by three children: Mrs. Nellie Coffey of Duncan, Okla., John of Cabri, Sask., Canada, and Mrs. Lola Willey of Milnor township, also twelve grandchildren.
