Funeral services for Stella Lommen, September 19, 1996, 11 a.m. On December 16, 1901, Stella was born to Ove and Mary (Benson) Aasum of rural Mabel, Minnesota. She was baptized at Hesper Lutheran Church, Hesper, Iowa, and confirmed her faith in the Triune God there on October 22, 1916. Stella graduated from Mabel High School. She was a lifelong resident of the Mabel-Spring Grove area.

On October 17, 1929, Stella married Harry M. P. Lommen. They farmed in the Spring Grove Township until moving to Spring Grove in 1977. Harry passed away August, 25, 1977. Stella was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Spring Grove and the Trinity WELCA. Stella Lommen passed through death into the eternal care of our Lord this past Sunday, September 15, 1996, at the Tweeten Lutheran Care Center in Spring Grove. She was 94 years old.

Stella is survived by two daughters Margaret (her husband Martin) Ranzenberger of rural Caledonia, Minnesota, and Lois (her husband Everett) Sollien of rural Mabel, Minnesota; grandchildren, Steve Ranzenberger, Linda Ranzenberger, Kathy Ranzenberger, Jeff (his wife Dorothy) Ranzenberger, Mark Sollien, Mary (her husband Dave) Saquitne, Michelle (her husband Lynn) Hardin, Marsha (her husband Ken) Sawle, Monica (her husband Steve) Bierschenk and great-grandchildren Katie and Kyle Ranzenberger, Daniel and Adam Sacquitne, Tyler, Travis and Taylor Hardin, Isaac, Savannah and Saylre Sawle and Jacob Bierschenk. A sister Minnie Myrah and sisters-in-law Cora Foss, Ruth Ekker and Thora Aasum also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandaughter Sara Ranzenberger, sister Blanche Storlie and brothers James, Grant, Judene, Melvin and Bennie Aasum.
