Andrew Folkedahl, 86, of Hesper, died Friday, February 8, 1991, at the Harmony Community Nursing Home.

He was born may 7, 1904, in Winneshiek County, IA the son Nels and Maria (Gaare) Folkedahl. He attended rural school in Highland township.

On November 25, 1931, he married Nina Nelson at Decorah. He farmed in Highland Township and was a milk hauler for the Quandahl Creamery. For 16 years he worked for the Winneshiek County Highway Department retiring in 1968. He was a member of the Hesper Lutheran Church.

Survivors are his wife; two sons, Manford of Marengo, IA, Forrest of Hesper; three daughters, Mavis Rilling, Mrs. Ronald (Lola) Foltz, both of Hesper, Mrs. John (Odis) Fossum of Mt.Vernon, Ia; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Martin(Jeanette) Thorson of Spring Grove and Mrs. Ernest (Thelma) Thorson of Burr Oak.

He was preceded in death by one son, a grandson, six brothers and a sister.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 12, at 11 a.m. at the Hesper Lutheran church. The Rev. Donald Peterson officiated. Burial was in the Hesper Public cemetery.
