The obituary for Lawrence Iverson, 1979, from the Welch collection.

Lawrence Iverson, 90, died Wednesday morning, March 14th, at Green Lea Manor nursing home in Mabel, where he had resided since September, 1978.

He was born October 21, 1888, in Glover, N.D., to Albert and Jessie Iverson. Since he was five years old he had resided in Mabel area.

He attended school in Hesper township and Mabel school. He was confirmed at the Hesper Lutheran church in 1903 and was a member of the church at the time of his death. He was a member of the Midland Oil Co. board 50 years.

On March 8, 1916, he married Fannie Welch. They lived on the same farm all their married life.

Survivors are his wife; two daughter, Mrs. Ervin (Frances) Inglett, Mrs. Wayne (Lorraine) Harkness, Mabel; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Agnes Espelund, Minneapolis.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Hesper Lutheran church. The Rev. Bernhardt Polesky officiated. Burial was in the Hesper Lutheran cemetery.
