Obituary for Roy Darrington, March 1961, from the Welch collection

Mr. Darrington was born 16, June 1891, Winnesheik co., IA, the son of John and Mary (Welch) Darrington. On February 24, 1915, he married Cora Grindeland. She preceded him in death February 19, 1926. On April 30, 1955, he married Josephine Heywood of Minneapolis, who survives. Besides his wife he is survived by brother, David, Parshall, ND, and one sister Cecil Darrington of Minneapolis. He was preceded in death by his parents. He died in Minneapolis and interment was at the Hesper Public cemetery.
