Kate Welch Obituary: 5 June 1934, Final rites for Mrs. L.J. Antrim were conducted Saturday morning, June 9th, at 10:30 o'clock from the Methodist Episcopal church. Rev. W.R. Palmer officiated. Mrs. Levi Julian Antrim, whose maiden name was Kate Welch, was called to her final rest on Thursday, June 5th, 1934.

She was born in Rock county, Wisconsin, February 5, 1854, the second eldest of eight children. She came to Fillmore County with her parents, David and Margaret Welch, in 1861.
On April 28, 1875, she was united in marriage to Levi Julian Antrim. With the exception of a short period in the early eighties spent in South Dakota, this vicinity has been her home. Three children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Antrim, the eldest daughter, Rose Nell, preceding her in death July 22, 1920. Her husband passed away on April, 5, 1933. Surviving her are; one son, Ernest Ray; one daughter, Matie E.; and two grand children, Kathryn and Ray Antrim; also three sisters and two brothers, namely, Mrs. Jane Stroud, Mrs. John Darrington, and Mrs. Fannie Babcock, David J. and John W. Welch. Those from out of town who were here for the funeral were; Mrs. Jennie Darling, Decorah; Mr. and Mrs. Ray Darling of La Crescent; Mr. and Mrs. Durwood Darling, Mrs. Wm. Jansen, Mrs. Woodard, and Roy Darling all of Decorah; and Miss Florence Mitson of Canton. Interment was made at the Hesper cemetery beside her husband and daughter. From the Welch collection.
