Mrs. Minnie Darrington, 99, died Monday morning at Green Lea Manor nursing home, Mabel, where she had been a resident for five years.

The former Minnie Noecker, she was born July 22, 1877, in Hesper township, Winneshiek County, Ia., the daughter of Gustav and Elizabeth Noecker. She attended school in District No. 3 in Hesper township.

On Dec. 16, 1896, she married Arthur Darrington. They farmed in Highland and Hesper townships. Mr. Darringnton died in 1919.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Vernice Richert of Mabel and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one son William, and four brothers and six sisters.

Funeral services will be conducted Thurs. at 1:30 p.m. at the Hesper Friends church with Claire and Guilford Street officiating. Burial will be in the Hesper Public cemetery.

Friends may call at the Mengis Funeral home after 2 p.m. Wednesday.
