Kenneth Eugene Schultz was born October 6, 1924 at Castalia, Iowa. He was the son of Walter and Elsie (Schroeder) Schultz. He was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Castalia and has always lived in Castalia.

On April 7, 1951 he was united in marriage with Ernestine Lang of McGregor, Iowa and to this union were born five children. Kenneth lived and worked in this area where he served as Fire Chief for Castalia for ten years. For the last 18 years he has worked for the Riley Construction Company as a mechanic.

He passed away on November 13, 1975 at his home in Castalia. Funeral services were on November 16, 1975 with Reverend Perry L. Brown officiating, Mrs. Gerald Meyer as the organist and Mrs. Barbara Meyer the soloist. Burial will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery at Castalia, Iowa. Casket bearers were John Stavnes, Leonard Zweibohmer, Wayne Henry, Lawrence Lansing, Rudy Lutkenhaus, and Frank Tehel.

He is survived by his wife, three sons; Myron, Kevin, and Thomas, two daughters; Susan (Mrs. David Grimm) and Kathy Schultz; two foster children, Stanley and Mari Lynn Schultz. Other survivors include his brothers Ronald of Monona, Iowa and Charles of Corpus Christi, Texas, and a sister, Violet (Mrs. E.K.) Smith of Castalia.
