Funeral rites for Fred H. Gipp, 83, were held today (Monday) at 1:30 o'clock at the Steine Funeral home and at 2 o'clock at the Washington Prairie Lutheran church, with the Rev. E. O. Ellefson conducting the services. Interment was in the Washington Prairie cemetery. Mr. Gipp died at the Decorah hospital Friday, Dec. 11. He had been in poor health for some time.

Pallbearers were Otto Hughes, Elmer Gipp, Harvey Gipp, John Pankow, Otto Wodrich and Glen Mundt. Honarary pallbearers were Ralph Stortz, Hillman Sersland, Leo Ronan and Arthur Brandt.

Fred Gipp was born August 1, 1870, the son of John and Caroline Gipp. He was born in Germany and came to this country in 1887 and to Winneshiek in 1893. He was married to Miss Lissetta Schuette August 18, 1904 in Postville, Iowa.

He is survived by his wife and one daughter, Lily, of Decorah, two brothers, Herman of Ossian and Will of Marion and two sisters, Mrs. Carl of Owatonna, Minn., and Mrs. William Utpadel of Ellendale, Minn.

Attending the services from out-of-town were, besides the familhy, Mrs. Edwin Beadle of Marion, Harvey Gipp of Marion, Otto Wodrich of Owatonna, Minn. and Mrs. and Mrs. J. A. Gibson, Sr. of Harlowton, Mont.
