Robert Canny

Robert Canny, 80, of the Twin cities, died Saturday, May 8, 1999.

The Washburn McReavy Seman's Chapel, 1827 NW Coon Rapids Blvd., Coon Rapids, Minn., handled arrangements and held an informal time of remembrance Monday, May 10, from 6-8 p.m.

Robert was born March 17, 1919, in Burlington. He attended Iowa State University, graduating with a degree in chemistry.

He served as a pilot in the United States Navy during World War II.

Bob married his sweetheart, Bette Dirks, daughter of the late E. C. and Lillie Dirks of DECORAH, in 1944.

His life included Bette; their four daughters, Carlynn Canny (Steve), Barbara Canny, Suzanne Canny-Higueros (Accel) and Patricia Bass (Mark); and grandchildren Eric and Allison Bass, Ted Treska, and Maria and Carmen Higueros.
