Harland Shevik

Harland Shevik, 76, of Maplewood, Minn., and originally of DECORAH, died Saturday, April 28, 2001.

Memorial services were conducted Wednesday, May 2 at First Presbyterian Church at 1:30 p.m.

Private family internment with military honors was held at Fort Snelling.

Pallbearers were his grandchildren: Paul Kuhlman, Sean Shevik, John Thompson, Mathew Butler, Daniel Thompson and Jeff Pruet.

Honorary pallbearers were his grandchildren: Jason and Elizabeth Shevik.

Havener Funeral Chapel of White Bear Lake was in charge of arrangements.

Harland D. Shevik was a World War II veteran and a 3M employee for 36 years. He was also a member of the American Legion and VFW.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Maxine (Blackwelder) Shevik; children: Diane and Richard Kuhlman of Vadnais Heights, Minn.; Dennis and Monica Shevik of White Bear Lake; Sandra and David Thompson of
Round Lake, Minn.; Susan and Charles Pruet of Williamsville, NY; Richard and Adel Shevik of Marine-on-the-St. Croix, Minn.; Wendy and Gordon Butler of DeKalb, Illinois.; Robert and Mary Shevik of White Bear Lake; 19 grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Cotton of West Chester, Pa.; a brother, Al Robert and Chris Etteldorf of Decorah and a sister-in-law, Kathryn Shevik of Cedar Rapids.

Harland D. Shevik was preceded in death by his father, James Shevik; his mother, Mabel (Rickabough) Shevik; stepfather Al Etteldorf; brother Robert Shevik and two daughters, Robin Lynn and Heidi Jo.
