Arthur Ziegelmeyer

Editor's Note: The following obituary was recently received by Decorah Newspapers.

Arthur Ziegelmeyer, 80, of Bloomington, Minn., died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2001.

A Mass of Christian Burial service was held Monday, Jan. 29 at 10 a.m. at Assumption Catholic Church in Richfield, Minn.

Interment was at Fort Snelling. Enga-White-Gleason Funeral Home handled arrangements.

Arthur Ziegelmeyer was the son of Bill Ziegelmeyer, and was raised and schooled in DECORAH. He attended Luther College, and was a long time barber in DECORAH.

He was a retired postal worker, and union official of AFL-CIO, and a U.S. Army A-F World War II veteran.

Surviving Arthur Ziegelmeyer are his wife, Mary Ziegelmeyer of Bloomington; sons, Michael and Anne; Robert and Linda; and daughters Laura and Sam Farmer, Kathy and Dick Vesey and Patricia Ziegelmeyer; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and sister Violet Smith of Bell, Calif.
