Charles Aristides "Chuck" Zotalis

Charles Zotalis, 53, of Decorah, died suddenly Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2001 in Akumal, Qulntana Roo, Mexico.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, March 1 at 1 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring Grove, with Roble Funeral Home of Spring Grove handling arrangements.

Charles "Chuck" Aristides Zotalis was born April 6, 1947 in St. Paul, Minn., to Aristides P. and ' Virginia (Fraser) Zotalis.

He was a 1969 University of Minnesota graduate.

On Feb. 20, 1971, he married Lynne Dianne Bristol in St. Paul, where they began their married life.

The couple had lived in DECORAH the past six months, their newly-adopted hometown because of its warmth and welcoming nature.

They had lived in the Spring Grove and Caledonia, Minn., areas, and prior to that, Gallina, New Mexico.

Chuck Zotalis was a timber buyer with Root River Hardwoods of Preston, Minn.

He served as a lay pastor for the Christian Vineyard Church of Caledonia for 20 years.

Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Lynne Zotalis of DECORAH; his mother, Virginia Zotalis of St. Paul, Minn.; two sons, Jason and Jennifer Zotalis of Chicago, Illinois, and Jonathan Zotalis of DECORAH; two daughters, Alexis Zotalis of Minneapolis, Minn.; and Joy Zotalis of Madison, Wis.

Charles "Chuck" Aristides Zotalis was preceded in death by his father, Aristides Zotalis in 1998
