Marcelite Hinders

Marcelite Hinders, 77, of Waverly, died Friday, Feb. 16, 2001 at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo from complications following surgery.

Funeral services were conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Waverly, with Rev. Mike Tauke officiating.

Burial was in the Harlington Cemetery in Waverly.

Marcelite "Marcie" Zweibohmer was born June 3, 1923 in OSSIAN to John and Justina (Klemmer) Zweibohmer.

She attended school at St. Francis De Sales in OSSIAN.

On March 24, 1944 she married Claus C. Hinders in Cedar Falls.

The couple have always lived in the Waverly area and for ten years, Marcelite Hinders drove a school bus for the Waverly-Shell Rock School District, and she also worked for Roy's Place before retiring.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and enjoyed camping, playing cards and needle crafts.

Surviving are four children: Jane, and Max Van Raden of Plainfield, Iowa; Barbara and David Parker of Newell, Iowa; two sons, Jim and Kathy Hinders of Plainfield and Tom and Mary Ann Hinders of Waverly; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Norbert Zweibohmer of Maple, Minn, and Leonard and Eunice Zweibohmer of OSSIAN; two sisters, Corrine and Jackie Lensing of FESTINA and Marie and Curtis Monroe of OSSIAN.

Marcelite "Marcie" Hinders was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on July 15, 2000; one son, Steven, in 1975; one brother, Arthur; and one sister in infancy.
