Eileen Loraine Rice

Eileen Rice, 73, of Cresco, died Sunday, Feb. 18, 2001 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Feb. 22 at 11 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Cresco, pastor with Gary K. Lee and intern Gail Hermodson officiating.

Casket bearers were Jeremy Rice, Mike Mrachek, Les Perry, Greg Perry, Bernell Ramlo and Clarion Ramlo.

Internment was at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Cresco, with Lindstrom Funeral home of Cresco handling arrangements.

Eileen Loraine Rice was born June 18, 1927 in WINNESHIEK County, the daughter of Lars and Pearl (Foss) Rue.

She was baptized and confirmed at Lincoln Lutheran Church, and graduated from RIDGEWAY High School.

On July 23, 1946 she was united in marriage to Wayne R. Rice at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. They lived around the Cresco area during their married life.

Survivors include one son, Randy and Wanda Rice of Cresco; one daughter, Connie and Jerry Mrachek of Charles City; one sister, Phyllis and Merlin Rix of Cresco; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Eileen Loraine Rice was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1978; an infant daughter, Shari Ann; and a grandson, Rick.
