Bernard Barth, 66, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2001 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long battle with cancer.

Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13 at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories with Rev. Frank Hubener and Sister Judith officiating.

Burial was at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

Bernard Odell Barth was born Dec. 23, 1934 in Winneshiek County, the son of Alfred and Mae Barth.

He married Karen E. Peterson on Sept. 6, 1959 at Hauge Lutheran Church near Decorah.

Survivors include his wife, Karen Barth, two daughters, Wendy Barth of Iowa City and Kari and Wendell Holland of Edmond, Okla.; a son, Matthew and Susan Barth of Central City, Iowa; four brothers: Alton and Gordon Barth of Decorah; Ronald Barth of Cedar Rapids and Paul Barth of Denver, Iowa; two sisters, Gloria Vick of Lewiston, Minn, and Yvonne Barnes of Decorah, and seven grandchildren.

Bernard Odell Barth was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Marilyn Cook of Decorah.
