Phylis Clapp

Phylis Clapp, 75, of Vista, Calif, and formerly of DECORAH, died Friday, Dec. 8, 2000 at Tri City Medical Center in Vista after a short illness.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday at St. Andrew Lutheran Church.

Entombment was at Cedar Memorial Mausoleum.

Phylis A. Clapp was born Aug. 8, 1925, the daughter of Clarence and Lena Bakken of DECORAH.

She married Stewart R. Clapp on Aug. 24, 1947, in Decorah. He died in 1995.

Phylis Clapp was the owner and operator of Happy Hour Preschool for over 30 years. She was a member of St. Andrews Lutheran Church, the Cedar
Rapids and Iowa Association for Education of The Young Child, Privately Owned Preschool Association and the Builders Association.

Surviving Phylis Clapp are two sons, Russell and Yvette of Marion and Robert and Becky of Vista; a sister, Veneda Brown of Santa Ana, Calif; and a sister-in-law, Lucille Ramlo of DECORAH.

Also surviving are three grandchildren, Marty Plummer, Jr., Andrea Van Orsdale and Emily Clapp.

Phylis A Clapp was preceded in death by two brothers, Orvin and Earl Ramlo, and a daughter, Rebecca Plummer.
