Tracy Watson

Tracy Watson, 104, died of heart failure at Wesley Acres in Des Moines on Thursday, Dec. 7, 2000.

A memorial service will he held at 11 a.m. Dec. 18 at the Jehovah's Witnesses Grimes Congregation in Grimes, Iowa.

Burial of cremains was at Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines.

A native of Alton, Iowa, Tracy (Mulder) Watson was born on June 19, 1896.

She left Alton in 1915 to attend the former Capital City Commercial College in Des Moines.

In 1919 she married Thomas J. Watson. A long-time Des Moines resident, she often commented that she was the oldest resident in her neighborhood—both in age and in tenure. She lived in Des Moines for more than half a century.

Survivors include a son, Jack, of Des Moines; a grandson, Bob, of DECORAH; and two great-grandsons, Scott and Mark of DECORAH.

Additional survivors are relatives in Sioux, O'Brien and Plymouth counties, including the following nieces and nephews: Arlene Bierma and Dave Mulder of Sioux Center; Shirley Kramme of Sutherland; Ruth Minten and Wilma Zevenbergen of Alton; Gary Mulder of Sheldon and Colleen Scholten of LeMars.

Tracy (Mulder) Watson, was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Jen, Coba and Rena, and four brothers, John, Dick, Ray and Bernie.
