Kay Frances (Bowlus) Hall Franklin, 61, of Mt. Sidney, Va., died unexpectedly Monday, May 8, 2000, at her home.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 11, at 10 a.m., at the Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Rev. Wayne Shelor officiating.
Burial will follow in the adjacent cemetery. The Lindsey Funeral Homes of Harrisonburg, Va., are handling arrangements.
Kay (Bowlus) Hall Franklin was born Nov. 25, 1938, in Strawberry Point, the daughter of Anthony and Bernice (Tuecke) Bowlus.
She received her licensed practical nurse degree from the University of Iowa. She made her home in Colorado Springs, Colo., prior to moving to Augusta County in Virginia in June of 1969.
Kay had worked at Kings Daughters Hospital in Staunton, Va., and was a member of the Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church.
She was twice married. Kay married Robert Hall in 1958. He preceded her in death in 1967. In 1969 she married Victor A. Franklin, who survives.
In addition to her husband and her parents in DECORAH, she is survived by two sons, David Hall of Chesterfield, Va., and Mark J. Hall of Charlottesville; two grandchildren; and one brother, Nick Bowlus of Minnesota.
