Helen Marie Askelson

Helen Marie Askelson, 65, of Faribault, Minn., died Thursday, April 20, 2000, at her home.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 25, at 11 a.m., at the Faribault Assembly of God Church, with the Rev. Tomm Byrtus officiating.

Interment will be at the Meadow Ridge Memorial Park in Faribault.

Visitation will be held at the church one hour before services Tuesday. Boldt Funeral Homes are handling arrangements.

Helen Marie (Blegen) Askelson, the daughter of Merwyn W. and Nora A. (Moen) Blegen, was born Dec. 22, 1943, in DECORAH.

On Feb. 27, 1955, she married Harlan Askelson in Faribault.

She graduated from the Minnesota State Academy for the Deaf in Faribault and was formerly employed by Huckleberry Inn and Jerome Foods of Fanbalt.

Survivors include her husband, Harlan of Faribault, Minn.; one son, David (Irene) Askelson of Owatonna, Minn.; one granddaughter, Jessica Askelson of Owatonna, Minn.; two brothers, Oris (Arlene) Blegan of Mora, Minn., and Cletus (Dorothy) Blegen of Alexandria, Minn.; and other relatives.

Helen Askelson was preceded in death by her parents.
