William Henry Barth, Sr.

William Henry Barth, Sr., 93, died Tuesday, May 9, 2000.

A memorial service was held Friday, May 12, at 10:30 a.m., at the Gearhart Chapel of Coon Rapids, Minn. Burial followed at Morningside Cemetery.

William was born in DECORAH May 22, 1906. He and his wife, Mabel, farmed in DECORAH, and for 27 years lived in East Bethel, Minn., and Lindstrom, Minn., in their own home.

William had a life of many interests, including fishing, pontooning, alternative medicine, gardening, hunting, antiquing and visiting with his many friends and family.

His jams and jellies from the berries he grew were shared with many. His elderberry jelly and his sense of humor will be remembered.

William's strength and love for life also will be remembered as an inspiration to everyone who knew him.

Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Mabel; their children and spouses: William Jr. and Helen; Donovan and Sharon; Myrna and Ted; Dwight and Gayle; Dianne and Mike; Bradley and Lorraine; and Gloria (deceased).

Grandchildren surviving are John, Juliana, Marty, Mike, Melissa, Mary, Marcia, Melanid, Marliss, Kathy, Teresa, Chad, Billy, Lacey, Jennifer, Randy, Deedee and Brandon, and great grandchildren are Elizabeth, Matthew, Autumn, Ashley, Chad, Jr., Joseph, Shannon, Jason, Jesse, Logan, Jonathon, Katlyn, Jessica, Jenna, James, Jackie, Jacob, Harmony, Jordan, Lindsay, Curtis, Rachel, Valerie, Nick, Angela and Kim, and their spouses and friends.
