Max A.F. Wolff, former Ossian resident, died September 23, 1971 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska, following a lingering illness. He was 74 years old.*(Note: He would have been born about 1897).

Funeral services were conducted in the Menonite Brethren Church at Henderson, Nebraska. Burial was in the church cemetery with graveside services being conducted by members of Foreign Wars and the American Legion of York, Nebraska.

Mr. Wolff lived in Ossian for more than 20 years. At one time he was depot agent for the Milwaukee railroad and later operated a shoe repair shop. He moved away from Ossian about 25 years ago. His only survivor is his wife.
