Shelley Kay Usgaard

Shelley Kay Usgaard, 41, of West Des Moines and formerly of Amana, died Friday, Oct. 15, 1999, in Clive.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Monday, Oct. 18, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Marengo, with the Rev. Douglas Morton officiating.

Casket bearers were David C. Usgaard, Thomas R. Usgaard, Robert E. Usgaard, Kirby Schaefer, Reed P. Schaefer and Lee Herr.

Interment was at the Amana Cemetery in Amana. The Kloster Funeral Home of Marengo handled arrangements.

Shelley Kay (Harman) Usgaard was born May 22, 1958, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Donald and Violet (Rettig) Harman.

She graduated from the Amana Schools in 1976 and from Luther College, DECORAH, in 1980.

Shelley married James Usgaard Oct. 17, 1981, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Marengo.

She worked in banking and retail clothing for many years. Shelley was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in West Des Moines and did volunteer work.

Survivors include her husband, James; her parents of Amana; two brothers, Craig Harman of Amana and Noel Harman of Springfield, Neb.; and her father-in-law, Robert Usgaard of DECORAH.
